A loaded lory has a total weight of 12000 kg . Its 6 tyres are identical and show an air pressure of `50 kg wt//cm^2` each. If the load is distributed equally on all 6 tyres. Find the area of contact of each tyre with the road.

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
`40 cm^2`

Load on each tyre ` =(1200)/(6) = 2000 kg wt.` Area of contact, `A = ("load on each tyre")/("pressure of each type") = (2000)/(50) = 40 cm^2`
