A squre wire frame of side 10 cm is dipped in a liquid of surface tension `28 xx 10^(-3) Nm^(-1)` On taking out, a membrane is formed. What is the force acting on the surface of wire frame ?

The correct Answer is:
0.0224 N

As film has two free surface and perimeter of the squre of side l is 4 l on one face, so total length will be 8 l. So the total force due to S.T. Will be ` = 8 l xx S = 8xx0.10 xx 28 xx 10^(-3) N = 0.0224 N`
