Here, both statement - 1 and statement - 2 are correct and statement - 2 is the correct explanation of statement - 1. As the aeroplane moves at low altitude, where density of air is high, the wings of the aeroplane push the external air backwards in action. In reaction, the air pushed the aeroplane forward. At low altitude density of air being high, the aeroplane gets sufficient push to move forward.
