A lens is forming the image of an object on its axis. If the lens is placed with its faces reversed, will the position of image change ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

No, the image will be formed at the same position. This is bacause when `R_1` and `R_2` are interchanged, focal length `f` of lens does no change : `(1)/(f) = (mu - 1)((1)/(R_1) - (1)/(R_2))`.
