How does magnifying power change with change in length of tube for a given telescope ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For a telescope, magnifying power
`|m| = (f_0)/(f_e) = (f_0)/(u_e)`,
and `L = (f_0 + u_e)`
In a telescope, `f_0` is fixed. When `L` is increased, `u_e` increase. Hence magnifying power will decrease.
