Why photographer use red light and not blue light while developing the exposed films?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The energy of red light photon is lower than that of blue light photon, i.e., the energy of red light is less than that of the blue light. Therefore, the red light can not cause a chemical change in the exposed film whereas blue light can. That is why the red light is used by photographers while developing the exposed films.
