A n-p-n transistor conducts when...

A `n-p-n` transistor conducts when

A

both the collector and the emitter are negative with respect to the base

B

collector is positive and emitter is negative with respect to the base

C

both the collector and the emitter are positive with respect to the base

D

collector is positive and emitter is at the same potential as the base

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

For the proper functioning of an n-p-n transistor, E-B junction is forward biased and C-B junction is reverse biased.
For this the emitter is connected to the -ve terminal and the base should be connected to the +ve terminal of the battery and the collector should be connected to the +ve terminal of the battery. Thus (b) is the correct option.
