Alkali metals are generally extracted by

A

Reduction methods

B

Doutble decomposition methods

C

Displacement methods

D

Electrolytic methods

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

Alkali metals are highly electropositive and thus higly reducing. There is no other stronger rducing agent than those of alkali methal. Therefore, raduction, double decompositin and displacement methods for their extraction are not suitable. Only electrolytic methods are useful for their exteir extraction.
