If `A=B=45^(@)`, then justify
`cos(A+B)=cosA cosB-sinA sinB`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`cos(A+B)=cos(45^(@)+45^(@))=cos90^(@)=0`
Also, `cosA cosB-sinA sinB`
`=cos45^(@) cos45^(@) -sin45^(@) sin45^(@)`
`=(1)/(sqrt(2)) xx (1)/(sqrt(2)) - (1)/(sqrt(2)) xx (1)/(sqrt(2))=(1)/(2)-(1)/(2) =0.`
Hence `cos(A+B)=cosA cos B-sinA sinB.` [ Proved]
