Calculate the current shown by the ammeter `A` in the circuit diagram

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
`3.6 A`

Equivalent circuit is as shown. The resistance of middle arm
`= (10 xx 10)/(10 + 10) +(10 xx 10)/(10 + 10) = 5 + 5 = 10 Omega`
Effective resisrtence `R` of the circuit
`(1)/(R ) = (1)/(10) +(1)/(10) +(1)/(10) +(3)/(10) or R = (10)/(3) Omega `
Currect `I = (epsilon)/(R ) = (12)/(10 //3) = 3.6 A`
