In the net work each resistance is `2 Omega `. Find th effective resistance between `A and B`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
`16 //7 ` ohm

The distribution of current in the circuit is .Due to symmeter current in arm `AE` is equal to current in the arm `EB` since the current in arm `ED` , therefore the resistance of the net are the connected at `E` .Now resistance of path `AEB = r + r = 2 r`

resistance of path `ACDB = r + ((2r ) xx r )/((2r ) + r) + r = (8r)/(3)`
The paths `AEB` and `ACDB` arm in parallel therefore , the effective resistance between `A and B` will be `(1)/(R ) = (1)/(2r ) + (3)/(8r) = (4+ 3)/(8r) = (7)/(8r) or R = (8r)/(7)` But `r = 2 Omega ` therefore `R = 8 xx 2// 7 = 16 //7 ` ohm
