A generator is supplying power to a factory by cables of resistance `20 Omega`. If the generator is generating `50 kW` power as `5000 V`, what is the power received by factory ?

The correct Answer is:
`48 kW`

Here `R = 20 Omega P = 50 kW = 50 xx 1000W= 5 xx 10^(4)W, V = 5000V`
current supplied by generator
`I = (P)/(V) = (5 xx 10^(4))/(5000) = 10 A`
power wasted as during transmission by cable
`p = l^(2) R = (10)^(2) xx 20 = 2000 W = 2 kW`
power received by factory `= p - l' = 50 - 2 = 48 kW`
