The optical powers of the objective and ...

The optical powers of the objective and the ocular of a microscope are equal to `100` and `20 D` respectively. The microscope magnification is equal to `50`. What will the magnification o fthe microscope be when the distance between the objected and the ocaular is increased by `2.0 cm`?

Obviously, `f_(0) = + 1m` and `f_(e) = + 5cm`
Now, we know that, magnification of a microscope,
`T = ((s'_(0))/(f_(0)) - 1) (D)/(f_(e))`, fro distinct vision
or, `50 = ((s'_(0))/(f_(0)) - 1) (25)/(5)` or, `v_(0) = 11 cm`.
Since distance between objective and ocular has increased by `2cm`, hence it will cause the increase of the tube length by `2 cm`.
so, `s'_(0) = s'_(0) + 2= 13`
and hence, : `T' = ((s'_(0))/(f_(0)) - 1) (D)/(f_(e)) = 60`
