`alpha`-particle: `._2He^4` , neutron:`._0n^1`
`therefore` Let the new element be `._ZX^A` .
From the laws of conservation of mass number and atomic number,
9 + 4 =A + 1 or, A=12
and 4 +2 =Z+0 or, Z=6
`therefore` The new element =`._6C^12` (carbon)
`therefore` The complete equation of the reaction : `._4Be^9 + ._2He^4 to ._6C^12 + ._0n^1`
