Why does the conductivity of a pure semiconductor increases with rise in temperature ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If the temperature of a pure semiconductor be increased some electrons acquire sufficient kinetic energy to break the bond and come out of the valance band. These electrons act as charge carriers inside the crystal. So the conductivity of a pure semiconductor increases with rise in temperature.
