Out of three jars of equal diameter and height, 2/3 part of the first, 5/6 part of the second and 7/9 part of the third were filled with dilute sulphuric acid. Whole of acid in the three jars were poured into a large jar of 2*1 dcm diameter, as a result the height of acid in the jar becomes 4*1 dcm. If the length of diameter of each of the three equal jars is 1*4 dcm. Calculate the height of three jars.

A and B are two thermometers made of glass and both contains the same liquid. Both thermometers have spherical bulbs. The internal diameter of the bulb of A is 7.5 mm and radius of the capillary tube is 1.25 mm. The corresponding values for B are 6.2 mm and 0.9 mm. Find the ratio of the lengths between two consecutive graduations in thermometers A and B.

The average of the collective ages of 4 classes in a school is 8.5 years. The number of students of 4 classes are 32.30, 29 and 27. If the average of the classes of the first, second and third be 6.8 years, 7.5 years and 8.2 years respectively , then find the average of ages of the students of class-IV.

A parallel beam of light of lambda = 5 xx 10^(-7) m is incident normally on a narrow slit of width 0.2 mm. The diffraction pattern is observed on a screen at the focal plane of a convex lens of f = 50 cm. Find the distance between the first two minima and the first two maxima on the screen.

pH of 0.2mol*L^(-1) chloroacetic acid is 1.7. find out the degree of dissociation of this chloroacetic acid.

Charles Richter defined the magnitude of an earthquake to be M = log_(10) (I/S) , where I is the intensity of the earthquake (measured by the amplitude of a seismograph reading taken 100 km from the epicentre of the earthquake) and S is the intensity of a ''standed earthquake'' (whose amplitude is 1 micron =10^(-1) cm). Each number increase on the Richter scale indicates an intensity ten times stronger. For example. an earthquake of magnitude 5. An earthquake of magnitude 7 is 100 times stronger then an earthquake of magnitude 5. An earthquake of magnitude 8 is 1000 times stronger than an earthquake of magnitude 5. The earthquake in city A registered 8.3 on the Richter scale. In the same year, another earthquake was recorded in city B that was four times stronger. What was the magnitude of the earthquake in city B ?

pH of 0.2 mol L^-1 chloroacetic acid is 1.7 . Find out the degree of dissociation of this chloroacetic acid.
