Bh

B

Mn

C

Re

D

Tc

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Group 7 elements are manganese, technetium, rhenium and bohrium. Tc does not occur in nature and is the first man-made element. It is radioactive and is mainly obtained form fission water. Re is rare and closely resembles Tc in its properties. Mangnese exhibits the widest range of oxidation states of alll the elements, ranging from `(-3)` to `(+7)`, of which the important ones are `+2` , `+4` and `+7`. Manganese is an important constituent of all steels. Re is used in thermocouples, electric furnace windings and mass spectrometer filaments on account of its very high melting point `(3180^(@)C)`.
