The correct Answer is:
A
The foundation of medern sterochemistry was laid when Louis Pasteur observed (in `848)` that optically inactive sodium ammonium tartrate existed as a mixture of two different kinds of crystals which were mirror images of each other. Using a hand lens and a pari to tweezers, he carefully and laboriously spearated the mixture into two tiny polesone of light-handed crystal and the other of left-handed crystals-in exactly the same way as one might separate right-handed and left-handed gloves lying jumbled toghter on a shop counter.
