For high frequency, a capacitor offers

A

more resistance

B

less resistance

C

zero resistance

D

None of these

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

At a higher frequency, the change on the capacitor plates will vary more rapidaly, so `((dq)/(dt))` will be higher resulting in an increase in the instantaneous current `(i=(dq)/(dt))`.
This means lower capacitive reactance i.e. less resistance.
