A solenoid having 500 turns / metre has a core of a material with relative permeability 500 what is the magnetisation of the core material if a current of 1 A is passed through it?

A

`3xx10^(-3)`

B

`2xx10^(-4)`

C

`2.5 xx10^(-4)`

D

`4xx10^(-3)`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
C

For a solenoid H= ni `becauseH=(B)/(mu_(0))=(mu_(0)ni)/(mu)`
and because `x =(1)/(H)` before `I= xH`
But `x=(mu_(R -1))`
`(500-1)(500xx1)=499xx500`
`=2.495xx10^(5)` A/m `div 2.5xx10^(5)` A/m
