Two vectors of equal magnitude are acting through a point. The magnitude of resultant is equal to the magnitude of either vectoe. Find the angle between the vectors.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here , `P = Q = R = x`
`R^(2) = P^(2) + Q^(2) + 2PQ cos theta`
`x^(2) = x^(2) + x^(2) + 2x^(2) cos theta`
`cos theta = -(1)/(2)`
`theta = 120^(@)` or `240^(@)`
` = 120^(@)`
Note : Always state the smaller angle.
