If N-vectors of equal magnitude are acti...

If N-vectors of equal magnitude are acting through a point and angle between the adjacent vectors is `2pi//N` , find the resultant.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The resultant is zero.
(a) If `N = 2` , the angle between vectors ` = ( 2pi)/(2) = pi = 180^(@)`
(b) If `N = 4` , the angle between adjacent vectors ` = (2 pi)/(4) = (pi)/(2) = 90^(@)`
( c) If `N = 3` , the angle between adjacent vectors ` = ( 2 pi)/(3) = 120^(@)`
OR
Adding these vectors by the polygon law , given vectors form a closed polygon , hence their vector sum is zero.
