A particle of mass `0.1kg` executes `SHM` under a force `F =- 10x (N)`. Speed of particle at mean position is `6 m//s`. Find its amplitude of oscillation.

Text Solution

From conservation fo mechanical energy.
`(1)/(2) KA^(2) = (1)/(2) mv^(2)` or `A = v sqrt((m)/(K)) = 6 sqrt((0.1)/(10)) = (6)/(10) = 0.6m`
