Reactant 'A' (initial concentration, a) ...

Reactant 'A' (initial concentration, a) reacts according to zero order kinetics, the time takews for the completion of the reaction is

A

`a//k`

B

`2a//k`

C

`k//2a`

D

`a^(2)//k`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Let the reaction be
`Ararr`product
Intial concentration `(t=0)a0`
Concentratiopn at time, `ta-x0`
`K=(x)/(t)`
or `t=x//K`
When reaction is complete, the entire reactant `(A)` is converted into the product, thus, `x=a` .
Hence time taken for the completion of the reaction `(t_(oo))` is
`t_(oo)=(a)/(K)`
