Expand each of the following (i) (3x+4y)...

Expand each of the following (i) `(3x+4y)^2` (ii) `(3x-4y)^2`

Text Solution

By the formula : `(a+b)^2 = a^2+b^2 +2ab`
we, here have, 3x as a and 4y as b, on expansion, it's :
`9x^2 + 16y^2 + 24xy`
By the formula : `(a-b)^2 = a^2+b^2 -2ab`
we, here have, 3x as a and 4y as b, on expansion, it's :
`9x^2 + 16y^2 -24xy`
