Factorize: x^2-1-2a-a^2...

Factorize: `x^2-1-2a-a^2`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`x^2-1-2a-a^2`
`=>x^2−(1+2a+a^2)`
`=>x^2−(1+a)^2,Since, a^2+2ab+b^2=(a+b)^2`
We know,`a^2−b^2=(a+b)(a−b)`
`=>(x+1+a)(x−1−a)`
`x^2−1−2a−a^2=(x+1+a)(x−1−a)`
