Why is ferric chloride preferred over potassium chloride in case of a cut leading to bleeding?

Blood has negatively charged colloidal particles. It is coagulated by positive ions. `As Fe^(3+)` ions have greater positive charge than `K^(+)` ions, coagulation wite `Fe^(3+)` ions is faster and hence is preferred.
