(a)Mitosis is the division of a parent cell into two indentical daughter cells,each with a nucleus having the same amount of DNA,the same number and kind of chromosomes,and the same hereditary instructions as the parent cell.Hence,it is also known as the equatorial division.
(b)In the animal cells,centrioles are present.Hence the spindle has an aster at each pole in the dividing cell.On the other hand there are no centrioles in plant cells and no asters are formed.\
