`x=2, y=−1` is a solution of the linear equation
(a) x+2y=0
(b)  x+2y=4
(c) 2x+y=0
(d)  2x+y=5

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

here `x=2, y=−1`
(a) `x+2y=0`
here `2+2xx(-1)=0` so ` x=2, y=−1` is a solution.
(b) `x+2y=4`
here `2+2xx(-1)=4` which is not true.
(c) `2x+y=0`
here `4+(-1)=0` which is not true.
(d) `2x+y=5`
here `4+(-1)=5` which is not true.
so correct ans is (a).
