Which of the law can be understood in terms of Stefan's law

A

Wien's displacement law

B

Kirhoff's law

C

Newton's law of cooling

D

Planck's law

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

For small temperature difference, Stefan's law can written as
`Deltau = e sigmaA [(T +DeltaT)^(4) -T^(4)]`
or `Deltau = e sigma AT^(4) [[1+(DeltaT)/(T)]^(4)-1]`
or `Deltau = e sigma AT^(4) xx 4 xx (DeltaT)/(T)`
or `Delta u prop DeltaT`
Hence Newton's law of cooling is a special case of stefan's law.
