Find the sum of n terms of the series wh...

Find the sum of n terms of the series whose ` n^(th)` term is ` 18 n^(2) - 6n + 5 `

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here , ` a_(n) = 18n^(2) - 6n +5`
` S_(n) = sum _(n=1)^(n) a_(n) `
`sum _(n=1)^(n) (18n^(2) - 6n+ 5 )`
`sum_(n=1)^(n) n^(2) - 6sum_(n=1)^(n) n+5n`
= ` 18 (n(n+1)(2n+1))/(6) - 6(n(n+1))/(2) + 5n`
` 3n (2n^(2) + 3n + 1) - 3n (n+1) + 5n`
` = 6n^(3) + 9n^(2) + 3n - 3n^(2) - 3n + 5n `
` 6n^(3) + 6n^(2) + 5n` .
