In a single throw of die, describe the following events.
(i) A = getting a number less than 7
(ii) B = getting a number greater than 7
(iii) C = getting a multiple of 3
(iv) D = getting a number less than 4
Also, find 'A or B', 'A and B', 'B and C' and 'not D'

If a die is throw once then the sample space.
S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}
Now, (i) A = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}
(ii) B = `phi`
(iii) C = {3, 6}
(iv) D = {1, 2, 3}
Now 'A or B' = `AcupB` = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6} `" "` [`therefore` it consists all the elements that is either in A or in B or both]
'A and B' = `AcapB = phi " "` [elements common to A and B]
'B and C' = `BcapC = phi`
'Not D' = {4, 5, 6} `" "` [i.e., number greater than or equal to 4 or D' = S - D]
