If the sum of n terms of an A.P. is 2n^2...

If the sum of `n` terms of an A.P. is `2n^2+3n` then write its nth term.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We know that sum of n terms of an AP is
`S_n = 2n^2 + 3n`
So, `S_1 = 2 + 3 = 5 = t_1`
`S_2 = 2×2^2+3×2 = 8+6 = 14`
So, `t_2 = S_2 - S_1 = 14 - 5 = 9`
Now, common difference of A.P. is given by `d = t_2 - t_1 = 9 - 5 = 4`
