The sequence 1/3,-1/2,3/4,-9/8 is a G.P....

The sequence `1/3,-1/2,3/4,-9/8` is a G.P. with first term `1/3` and common ratio equal to `(-1/2)-:(1/3=\ -3/2)dot`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let `a=1/3`,`b=-1/2`,`c=3/4` and `d=-9/8`
Now since a,b,c,d are in G.P
so common ratio is ,
`r1=b/a=(-1/2)/(1/3)=(-3/2)`
`r2=c/b=(3/4)/(-1/2)=(-3/2)`
`r3=d/c=(-9/8)/(3/4)=(-3/2)`
Thus we can say that `r=-3/2`
