Show that each of one of the following p...

Show that each of one of the following progression is a G.P. Also, find the common ratio in each case: `a ,(3a^2)/4,(9a^3)/(16), ,`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let a = a, b = `(3a^2)/4`,
c = `(9a^3)/16` In GP,` b^2 = ac`
`(3a^2/4)^2 = 9a^3/16 × a`
`( 9a^4)/16= (9a^4)/16 `
So, the Common ratio = r =
`(3a^2/4)/a = (3a^2)/(4a) = (3a)/(4)`
