If `a ,b ,c,d` are in G.P. prove that `(a^n+b^n),(b^n+c^n),(c^n+d^n)` are in G.P.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given, `a ,b ,c, d` are in G.P.

Geometric mean relation:

`b^2=ac`

`c^2=bd`

`bc=ad`

`b/a=c/b=d/c`

To prove: `(a^n+b^n),(b^n+c^n),(c^n+d^n)` are in G.P.

To prove: `(b^n+c^n)^2=(a^n+b^n)(c^n+d^n)`
