In each of the following find the equations of the hyperbola satisfying he given condition: `foc i\ (0,pm13)` conjugate axis `=24`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We have given foci `(0,+-13)` and cojugate axis=24
Hence, 2b=24
Therefore, the equation of the hyperbola is of the form
`y^2/a^2− x^2/b^2=1`
Since the foci are `(0,+-13),c=13`.
We know that
`a^2+b^2=c^2`
`a^2+12^2=13^2`
`b^2=169−144=25`
