Write the coordinates of the point P whi...

Write the coordinates of the point `P` which is five sixth of the way from `A(-2,0,6)to\ B(10 ,-6,-12)dot`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let `P (x, y, z)` be the required point, i.e., P divides AB in the ratio `5 : 1. `
Then,
`P(x,y,z)=((5 times 10+1 times (-2))/(5+1), (5 times (-6)+1 times 0)/(5+1), (5 times -12 + 1 times 6)/(5+1))`
`=(8,-5,-9)`
