Which are the monomeric repeating units of Nylon-6 and Nylon-6,6 ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
The monomeric repeat unit of Nylon `6` is `-NH- (CH_(2))-underset(C)overset(O)(||)-` which is derived from caprolactam The monomeric repeat unit of Nylon `6,6` is derived from two hexamethylendiarine and adipic acid and has the following structure
`-NH-(CH_(2))_(6)-NH-underset(C)overset(O)(||)-(CH_(2))_(4)-underset(C)overset(O)(||)-` .

Glucose contain `-CHO` group so used for silvering of mirror.
