Using determinants show that the following points are collinear: (i) (3, -2),  (8, 8) and (5, 2)     (ii) (2, 3),  (-1, -2) and (5, 8)

We have to show that points are collinear
(i) `(3, -2),  (8, 8) and (5, 2)`
Now take `(x_1, y_1),(x_2, y_2) and (x_3,y_3)`
Then the condition of collinearity is given as:
`x_1(y_2-y_3)+x_2(y_3-y_1)+x_3(y_1-y_2)=0`
Hence,
`=3(8-2)+8(2+2)+5(-2-8)`
`=3(6)+8(4)+5(-10)`
