The sides of an equilateral triangle are increasing at the rate of `2` `cm`/`sec`. How far is the area increasing when the side is `10` `cm`?

Text Solution

Let,
`x=` side and `A=` Area
We know that,
`A=(sqrt(3)x^2)/(4)`
Differentiating both sides w.r.t. `t`
`(dA)/(dt)=(sqrt(3))/(4)*2x*(dx)/(dt)`
Given that, `x=10cm`
`(dx)/(dt)=2cm/s`
