Prove that the tangents to the curve ...

Prove that the tangents to the curve `y=x^2-5x+6` at the points (2, 0) and (3, 0) are at right angles.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We know that if the slope of two tangent of a curve are at
Right angle only when their `m_{1} m_{2}=-1`,
`m: dy / dx = 2 x-5`

`m_{1}` at `(2,0)=-1`
`m_{2}` at `(3,0)=1`
`m_{1} m_{2}=(-1)(1)=-1`

So, we can say that tangent at `(2,0)` and `(3,0)` are at right angles.
