Find the equation of the tangent line...

Find the equation of the tangent line to the curve `x=1-costheta,\ y=theta-sintheta` at `theta=pi//4` .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given, `x=1-costheta` , `y=theta-sintheta`

At `theta=pi/4`

`x=1-cospi/4=1-1/sqrt(2)`

`y=pi/4-sinpi/4=pi/4-1/sqrt(2)`

`(dx)/(d theta)=sin theta`

`(dy)/(d theta)=1-cos theta`

Let `m` be the slope of tangent
