(i) "The" `N-O` "bond in" `NO_(2)^(-)` "is shorter then the" `N-O` "bond in" `NO_(3)^(-)` .
(ii) `SF_(6)` is kinetically an inert substance.
OR
State reasons for each of the following :
(i) "All the" `P-CI` "bonds in" `PCI_(5)` "molecule are not equivalent".
(ii) Sulpher has greater tendency for catenation then oxygen.

(i)
Since in `NO_(3)^(-)` there are more resonating structures then `NO_(2)^(-)`. Thus the N-O bond in `NO_(2)^(-)` is shorter than `N-O` bond in `NO_(3)^(-)`
(ii) `SF_(6)` is not easily hydrolysed.
Because of the reason is that `SF_(6)` is stable and inert.
(OR)
(i)The three equatorial P-Cl bonds are equivalent, while the two axial bonds are longer than equatorial bonds. This is due to the fact that the axial bond paris suffer more repulsion as comared to equatorial bond pairs.
(ii) S-S bond strength is more than O-O bond strength thus sulphur has greater tendency for catenation than oxygen.
