For the positive half cycle of input the resulting network is shown in figure (b). Diode `D_(1)` is in ''off'' state and `D_(2)` is in ''on'' state. Circuit has been redrawn in figure (c ). It is clear that
`V_(0)=(1)/(2)V_(1)`
or `V_(0_("max"))=(1)/(2)V_(i_("max"))=(1)/(2)(10V)=5V`

During negative half cycle the roles of diodes `D_(1)` and `D_(2)` will be interchanged and `V_(0)` will appear as shown in figure (d).
For full - wave rectification
`V_(d.c)=0.636V_(m)=0.636xx5V=3.18V`
