In a region, a uniform electric field and a uniform magnetic field are acting in the same direction. An electron is shot along the directio of the fields. What change will be obsverved in the magnitude and direction of the velocity of that electron ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Since the direction of the magnetic field and that of the velocity of the elctron is the same, the magnetic force will be zero. Since the charge of electron is negative, so its velocity will decreases gradually in the direction of electric field.
