'Increasing the current sensitivity of galvanometer may not necessarily increases its voltage sensitivity''. Justify this statement.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The current sensitivity `(S_(i))` of a galvanometer increases with the increases in the number of turns of its coil. But this the galvanometer resistance `R_(g)`. If `theta` is the angle of deflection of the galvanometer, its voltage sensitivity,
`S_(V)=(d theta)/(dV)=(di)/(dV)*(d theta)/(di)=(1)/(R_(g))S_(i)`
This decreases with the increases in `R_(g)`.
