An object of height 2.5cm is placed perpendicularly on the principal axis of a concave mirror of focal length f at a distance of `(3)/(4)f`. What will be the nature of the image of the object and its height?

Here, u `= -(3)/(4)f,` focal length =-f
We know, `(1)/(v)+(1)/(u)=(1)/(f) or, (1)/(v)-(4)/(3f)=-(1)/(f)`
`or, " " (1)/(v)=-(1)/(f)+(4)/(3f)=+(4)/(3f) or, v=+3f`
The positive sign of v indicates that the image formed by the concave mirror is virtual in nature and is situated behind the mirror at a distance of 3f.
Magnification, `"Again," " " m=("height of the image")/("height os the object")`
`or, " " 4=("height of the image")/(2.5)`
`or, " " "height of the image"=10cm`
