A convex lens of power 10m^(-1) is used ...

A convex lens of power `10m^(-1)` is used as a simple magnifying glass . What are the maximum and minimum magnification of the lens ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Power of a lens ,
`P=(100)/f or, f=(100)/P`
In this case, P=`10 m^(-1)`
`therefore f=(100)/(10)=10cm`
Maximum magnification =`1+D/f=1+(25)/(10)=3.5`
Minimum magnification =`D/f=(25)/(10)=2.5`
