What will be the effect on the diffraction pattern in a single slit if red light is used instead of violet light?

We know that the angular width of diffraction in a single slit is given by `theta = (lambda)/(a)`
Now, the wavelength of red light `(lambda_(r ))` is greater than that of violet light `(lambda_(v))` i.e., `lambda_( r) gt lambda_(v)`.
So, `theta_(r ) gt theta_(v) `
Therefore diffraction bands in red light will be wider.
